Sail Away Dinghy Cruising

Sailing small boats for long distances is a very satisfying past time. The feeling of achievement and the sensation of sailing with a purpose (and not just to a windward and leeward mark) is what makes it so addictive.

We cover basic navigation, cruising techniques and safety at our Porto Heli and Vassiliki Beach Clubs during our SailAway excursions before heading off to an island or beach stopover with a support rib boat to accompany the flotilla.

How it all works

We run our dinghy cruising from mid-morning and we generally time then so they don’t clash with any RYA courses you are also taking. It all starts with a shore-based briefing from our dinghy instructors. You will learn about cruise planning, basic pilotage, safety elements (very important!), basic navigation and long distance sailing skills to give you a taste for this truly inspirational past-time.

Available in all our centres: Half to 3/4 day.

Where is best?

We offer Sail Away excursions in all our Beach Clubs, but our specialist Sail Away centres are Mytikis and Porto Heli, where we run more of them throughout your week and offer an enhanced range of facilities and better focus for dinghy cruising.
