About Kos

Kos Resort

Akti beach offers the perfect base to see the best sights of the island. The lively town of Kardamena is a short bike ride away, or a 10min walk. So grab one of our bikes or even rent a car, an off road buggy (they’re fun!) or a moped from reception to go further afield and explore to your heart’s content.

Alternatively, just stay onsite for your week (or two) like many people do, because there’s more than enough inclusive activities to get stuck into - whether it’s on land or in the water.

Top things to do

For those who don’t want to spend time in the water, there’s always something going on at the club. Try the centre’s own programme of daily aerobics, fitness classes, boxercise, yoga inspired workouts, aqua zumba, pilates and more. There’s alternative activities like archery and Scuba diving; and firm favourites like tennis, kids clubs, and organised football or basketball events.

If you fancy something more sedate then head to the Spa for it’s volcanic pool and therapies. There’s lots of kids play areas and if you like biking then go and explore the local trails, they are many and varied. If you’d prefer to venture further afield then rent a car or mo-ped from reception and visit Kos’s ancient landmarks, villages, secret beaches, hot springs and the volcano. Or just keep it local and take a coastal walk or ride over to nearby Kardamena for coffee and ice cream.

If it all sounds like too much, then hit the sun-lounger - hard. Akti beach and Akti Palace are havens for relaxation, with an array of pools, sunbathing areas and all-inclusive cafes - which make ‘kicking-back’ a serious past-time.

For Active Families

The great thing about our Beach Clubs is that it's not only all-inclusive, but it’s all onsite too! In fact, everything you’ll ever need to entertain your little ones (or your elder ones) from 2 years to 70 years + has been thought of and provided for, and most of it is all inclusive.

You can choose from daily sessions of aerobics, archery, water sports, biking, scuba, family fun events, tennis, volleyball, football, playgrounds aplenty. The centre runs an inclusive childcare and creche facility for very little ones and not-so-little-ones. There’s even a Teenagers’ club, too!

Our popular Youth Squad offers dedicated water sports coaching all week for your budding 8-13 year olds, for windsurfing and sailing. It’s an extra charge, but one that’s well worth it!

The beach in front of our hotels offers calm conditions most mornings and is the perfect spot for kids from the age of 4 to get to grips with watersports, go for a paddle or try some sailing or windsurfing. The gentle morning conditions enable everyone to get more than enough water-time before the winds build gradually after lunch.

The transfer from the airport is only 15 mins and always popular with little travellers. And there’s a wide range of family rooms, duplexes and suites at our club, so if you can’t find your ideal room - do give our sales team a call.

Kos for Windsurfing

Kos needs little introduction to the world of windsurfing, as is one of the most famous windsurf spots in Europe. But Kos is not only for the experts: In fact, beginners are just as well suited to Kos with its reliable thermal winds that promise gentle conditions each morning before they build through the day to offer more exciting windsurfing for intermediates and up.

We include beginner tuition and skills clinics for more advanced windsurfers with all our holidays and our water sports centre has a full range of boards from beginner to advanced and lots and lots of sails! We have a crack team of RYA instructors to teach you everything from mastering your first tacks to the infamous carve gybe or waterstart!

We include free beginner tuition and skills clinics for more advanced sailors with all our holidays so that you can use our great range of boats and performance craft all week. Kos Wind & Conditions

  • Mornings: F1-3
  • Afternoons: F4-7

Most days will start the same: the mornings generally ease in with a gentle on-shore Force 1-2 breeze and calm water, before the thermal winds build around late morning. Mornings are the perfect time for families, beginners and improvers learning to windsurf and sail. It’s also a good time to go paddle boarding, kayaking and water skiing; or for the experts to try out new kit and skills like sailing with spinnakers..

Normally, the thermal wind will build around lunchtime to offer exciting sailing and windsurfing for intermediates. Our formula of top-notch equipment and expert RYA instructors will ensure that windsurfers and sailors have fun on the water at all times.
