Foiling is the new craze in sailing right now. The feeling of flying over the water on a dinghy with a hydrofoil at fast speeds is an incredible experience and will have you grinning from ear to ear! If you’re a competent intermediate sailor, (Level 2 RYA), you will be ready to try foiling.
We have the RS Aero with Glidefree foils at our Kos and Porto Heli centres and we’re even offering a free foiling taster session to experience learning to foil this summer. For more focussed tuition you can try our popular ‘First Flight’ courses which is a 3-4 hour beginner foiling course for a guest-special price of £99.
We will be offering all guests (Intermediate Level 2 standard) the chance to try foiling in our RS Aero with Glidefree foils. It’s a 1 to 1.5 hour session designed to give you a taster of this fantastic sport. You will start with some onshore theory and how to set-up the kit, before heading out on the water in RIB boats with an instructor in a small group of 3-4 pupils.
You will be connected by two-way radios so your instructor can lead you through the steps of taking your very first flight. Guaranteed, it’ll make you grin! You will need to register an interest for this free taster session in your ‘My Holiday’ area after booking.
This is the first course in the RYA SailFoil scheme, providing you with a basic introduction to foiling. During this course you should achieve your first flight and learn the basic theory of foiling.
This exciting course will give you your first sensations to flying the RS Aero. The session lasts 3-4 hours and is run by our expert foiling instructors. You will start with some onshore theory and learning how to set-up and tune the kit, before heading out on the water with your instructor, who will be in a support RIB nearby. You will be connected by two-way radios so your instructor can lead you through the steps of your first flight.
We run the course in groups of 3-4 where possible, so pupils can rest in the support RIB while others take a turn. This way, the group can share knowledge and learn from the others.
This 12-hour course is generally run over two days. This course is designed to increase your confidence and ability to handle a foil and maintain control. You will start to feel more confident in techniques to steer and sustain foiling effectively. Assumed ability on starting this course will be of First Flights or above.
We love the Aero for many reasons…. we love it even more with a foil! The RS Aero with GlideFree Foils, is the perfect machine to learn to foil.
The RS Aero needs no introduction and remains one of the best single handers on the market. A super lightweight hull (30Kg) with an easy-to-sail carbon rig which will help you master its manners and get you on the foils and flying more easily than with other, heavier boats. Our team will fly them in 9-10 knots of breeze and they’re perfectly suited to our Beach Clubs.
